So, if you have all your Steam games AND the Steam program itself on one dedicated drive, your game save files still are written the the primary OS drive by default? Is there any way to change this so that your save game files would be written to the second, dedicated drive instead? If so, would all your save files be in one place?Īlso, if you back up your game installations to an external HD which I plan to do, would there be any reason for two drives in the first place? Just have one larger drive such as, a 2TB M.2 PCIe and put the OS, all programs and all games on it.Nota: Il s'agit d'un loader de Sega Nu, Europa-R, RingWide, RingEdge, RingEdge 2, Namco ES3X, Namco N2, Sega Lingbergh, eX-Board (et accessoirement de Taito Type X/X2/X3/Nesica, même s'il existe déjà des loader pour ça à commencer par celui de romhack et celui de ArcadePC dit " All Rh"). Okay, now I follow you about store clients. It also houses the local backup for pictures and videos.īut yes, I prefer to keep my OS/Applications/documents/game saves on one drive, and then having my game installations and store clients on a dedicated drive. I have a 1TB HDD 7200RPM for where downloads go to, and acts as an overflow for game installations. I have a 480GB SATA SSD that is dedicated for all my game installs, and the different store clients. Originally posted by Eisberg:I have a 120GB m.2 SSD PCIE x4 for the OS, applications, and documents/game saves. Though some games do put them some where in the steam folder. Game generally put their saves either in your "Documents" or "My documents" folder or in yourĬ:\Users\user_name\AppData\Local folder, which are all on the OS drive by default. Store clients = Steam, GoG Galaxy, Epic Launcher, EA Origin, Ubisoft Uplay, ect.

Athough, I heard by installing the Steam program on another drive, all your save locations will be in one place. I'm not sure about the Steam program itself, that may make more sense to put on the primary/OS drive. What do you mean by "store clients" on a dedicated drive? It's interesting that you put your save games on the primary drive, why is that? If I were to have a dedicated drive for PC games, I would probably want all game related data on that drive. I think a 1TB drive would be good for me. I currently have about 10 Steam games and they look to be 200GB in size. I didn't know the M.2 drives are available in SATA, I thought they were only PCIe.
